Before becoming one of today’s most dynamic Catholic apologists, Joe Heschmeyer sharpened his communication skills as a high school and college debater, a law student, and later, a practicing attorney. His love for the faith took root with his blog Shameless Popery, launched in 2009 to share the truth of Jesus Christ and His Catholic Church.
Joe holds a law degree from Georgetown University, a philosophy degree from Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, and a theology degree from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome. Today, he writes, teaches, and speaks across the country on topics such as the papacy, the early Church, the Eucharist, and the defense of life—all while living joyfully in Kansas City with his wife and children.
Talk Title: Pope Peter
Abstract: Drawing from his acclaimed book of the same name, Joe explores the biblical and historical foundations of St. Peter’s role as the first pope, chosen by Jesus Christ—and why recognizing that truth calls every person to the fullness of the Catholic faith.
